About

A workwear shop that shows its working.

iNeedWorkwear is two sites with one purpose. This one explains workwear — the standards, the codes, the care. Our shop sells it. We keep the two separate so the advice stays advice.

The setup

Two sites, one honest split

ineedworkwear.uk — where you are now — is the guidance side: plain-English explainers for the standards printed on workwear labels, kit guides by trade and sector, and care guides that keep certified garments compliant. No checkout, no basket.

ineedworkwear.com is the shop: certified workwear across hi-vis, flame-resistant, chefswear, healthcare, corporate uniform and PPE, with embroidery, printing and trade accounts for teams.

We keep them separate for a simple reason: a page that's trying to sell you something makes a poor reference. Here, a guide's only job is to get you to the right answer — and when the answer is "you need an S3 boot", the shop is one click away, clearly labelled.

Editorial rules

How the guides are written

Every guide on this site follows the same rules:

  • Standards first. Pages about EN ISO 20471, EN ISO 20345, EN 343 and the rest are written against the published standards and name the specific classes, areas and test values — so you can verify anything we say.
  • We say what we don't know. Where a requirement is set by your site rules or a risk assessment rather than the standard, the guide says so instead of inventing a rule.
  • Our interest is declared. We sell workwear. Guides link to our own shop's categories and to nothing else — no affiliate links, no sponsored placements, no third-party ads.
  • Pages earn their place. A guide only ships when it contains something useful you couldn't get from the label alone — a decision table, a decoded code, a replacement checklist.

The supplier

Who's behind it

iNeedWorkwear is a UK workwear supplier. The shop at ineedworkwear.com carries the certified kit these guides point to — hi-vis, safety footwear, chefswear, healthcare and corporate uniform among it — with logo embroidery and print available for teams.

Want to talk through an order, a kit list or a trade account? Call 01597 730142 or email hello@ineedworkwear.com — or head straight to the shop.

Kit questions? Ask a human.

Standards, sizing, embroidery, trade accounts — the phone gets answered by someone who knows the stock.
